Our approach in designing a new course is to first analyse the participants' active speaking ability, identifying weak as well as strong areas, and then develop a course based on the results of our analysis. We focus on the student's active language use and identify areas where his or her skills need improvement. The result of this process is a modular, theme-oriented course. Themes range from company-specific issues to the students' own interests.
Adaptation to the needs of the clients is key to a successful outcome. A key topic current in manufacturing for example is benchmarking incoming immigrants' understanding of Health and Safety topics within the industrial environment to the standard required by employers as specified by EU legislation. We reinforce the H&S training from a language point of view. Often people coming into the EU don't have the language skills required to understand and deploy the prerequisite H&S regulations. We bridge that gap.
